Radon Mitigation
Have High Radon?

Don’t panic. Discovering elevated radon levels can feel stressful, but radon problems are very fixable. A properly designed mitigation system can typically reduce radon levels by up to 95% or more and make your home safe for long-term living.

What’s Involved in Radon Mitigation?

Every home is different, but effective mitigation follows three important steps:

  • Step 1 Sealing the Foundation

We begin by sealing accessible entry points where soil gases can enter the home. This may include cracks in the slab, sump pits, floor drains, penetrations, crawl space openings, and other foundation gaps. Sealing helps the system create proper airflow and improves overall performance.Sealing helps the system create proper airflow and improves overall performance.

  • Step 2 Diagnostics & System Design

Before installing a system, we perform airflow and communication diagnostics (pressure field extension testing). This allows us to measure how air moves beneath the foundation and determine exactly how much airflow is required. Proper diagnostics are critical. Oversizing a system can cause issues such as unnecessary heat loss, pressure imbalances, or moisture concerns, while under sizing may not adequately reduce radon. We design the system to balance effectiveness, safety, and energy efficiency.

  • Step 3 Active Mitigation Installation

After sealing and diagnostics are complete, we install an active soil depressurization system. This uses PVC piping and a high-efficiency Fantech EC inline fan to safely draw radon from beneath the foundation and exhaust it outside. Each mitigation system is custom-designed for the specific home, including the correct fan size, airflow rate, and vacuum pressure beneath the slab. Our systems include upgraded EC variable-speed inline fans for optimal performance and monitoring, and every installation comes with a 5-year warranty on parts and labour, including the fan.

Creating Safer Spaces For Homes & Businesses

Our mitigation process begins with a thorough consultation and assessment of your property, along with a review of your existing radon levels. Based on this information, we design a customized mitigation plan to safely reduce radon while maintaining comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency.

We take pride in installing systems that not only meet, but often exceed recognized radon mitigation standards for performance and reliability.
